On March 21st, the opening ceremony of the 6th Sino-Japanese cultural exchange week was successfully held in the Lecture Hall of the Administration Building at Guizhou University, which was aimed to promote further exchanges and communications between two countries and students as well.
Quite a lot of distinguished guests and leaders have participated in the opening ceremony, such as Kiyomi Seno, consul General from Consulate General of Japan in Chongqing, professor Gao Hong, Deputy Director from the Institute of Japanese Studies of Academy of Social Sciences, Mrs. Cai Zhijun, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, Guizhou Province, Professor Chen Shuping, President of Guizhou University, Mrs. Lv Juan, a famous Chinese female entrepreneur, the GYPSYQUEEN band of Japan, Mr. Cao Lei, an editor of Global Times, Mr. Sakamoto yuusuke, a representative from OLJ and Mr. Huang Xingdi. Teachers and students from the College of International Studies of Guizhou University also took part in and Professor Wang Jianfang, the dean, chaired the ceremony.
Mr. Chen Shuping, President of Guizhou University, expressed his warm welcome to everyone presented there and extended thanks to the teachers and students worked for it. He also expressed his deep sympathy and profound condolences to the Japanese people in the earthquake-stricken areas, and wished them to forget all the misfortune and regain confidence as early as possible. In addition, he sang high praise to the China-Japan Friendship Concert titled Song of Youth on 20th March and wished a success of the 6th Sino-Japanese cultural exchange week.
Kiyomi Seno, Consul General from Consulate General of Japan in Chongqing addressed too. He expressed his thanks to President Hu Jintao for his condolence to the Japanese people in the March 11th earthquake and the relief supplies of 30 million yuan offered by Chinese government.
Then, Mrs. Cai Zhijun, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, Guizhou Province, expressed her deep condolence to the Japanese people too. And she mentioned that: “Guizhou University has established friendly and cooperative relations with some famous universities and enterprises all around in resent years, particularly the relationship with Japan. The successful holding of the 1st Japanese Cultural Festival at Guizhou University in 2005 has greatly promoted the Sino-Japanese cultural exchange. This cultural exchange week being more colorful and novel in content will enrich students’ cultural life enormously and further enhance the Sino-Japanese friendship and cultural exchange.”
In the end, Mrs. Wang Jianfang, Dean of the College of International Studies accepted the 100 sets of Japanese language learning software newly developed by Waseda University in Japan. It was Mrs. Lv Juan, a famous Chinese woman entrepreneur who donated them.
The opening ceremony was a great success and ended with the photo taken on-site to record the unforgettable moment.
